Fremont is one of Seattle’s most iconic neighborhoods. From the   Fremont Troll  to their annual Solstice Parade, becoming a part of the Fremont community means embracing the fun and quirky side of life. If you’re moving to Seattle, here are some reasons to consider a home in the Fremont neighborhood.

Housing of All Shapes and Sizes

Fremont real estate can get competitive, but that doesn’t mean there’s a lack of choice when it comes to finding a home that meets your needs. When looking for a home in Fremont, you can choose from a wide variety of apartments, condos, and single-family bungalows to rent or buy. Due to its location on Lake Union, you may even luck out with a house boat!

A Great Choice for Active Lifestyles

Fremont’s location makes it the perfect place to get active and enjoy the city all at once. Whether it’s kayaking around Gas Works Park or cycling on the Burke Gilman Trail, there are plenty of unique ways to get around.

A Tech Industry Hub

If you’re looking for a job in the tech industry, look no further than Fremont. Seattle is known for its influence in the tech industry, with many household names like Adobe and Google boasting headquarters in Fremont. There are also lots of independent start-ups that get their start in this neighborhood. Who knows? You may get in on the ground floor of the next big thing!

Locally Sourced Options for Your Daily Routine

You can find a lot of independent businesses to use for your day-to-day routines, shopping trips, and entertainment. Fremont has a plethora of grocery stores, clothing stores (especially if you’re into vintage clothes!), and more.

Stay Entertained from Day to Night

Grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning? Wrapping up the workday with a happy hour? Fremont’s got you covered.

During the Day: Seattle is known for its coffee, but why settle for a chain like Starbucks when you can partake in some fabulous independent cafes in Fremont? You can also pick up the latest bestseller or take in a movie. Here are some places we recommend:

Exploring at Night: Fremont’s vibrant nightlife scene is full of restaurants, bars, and live music to match your interests or curiosity. From pinball bars to speakeasies, breweries to specialty cocktail bars, EDM to Irish folk music, you’ll never run out of new places to try. Here are a few of our favorite hubs:

What to Do in Fremont

Like any lively urban neighborhood, there’s plenty to do that doesn’t fall into a cut-and-dry category. Here are a some of our favorite things to do in Fremont that we haven’t covered yet:

  • Theo’s Chocolates: This specialty chocolate factory is located right in the heart of Fremont. You can take tours to learn more about the magical process of creating delicious chocolate (a fun and educational activity for kids and adults) or just sample every bar they make in their on-site chocolate shop.
  • The Sunday Fremont Farmer’s Market: This giant weekly farmers market features produce, food trucks, crafts, and small business stands for your perusal.
  • Gas Works Park: A steampunk-lover’s dream, this park is the historical site of a former coal gasification plant, but also features lush rolling hills and a stunning view of downtown Seattle. It’s the perfect place for a picnic or to enjoy the summer sun.
  • The Fremont Fair: This fair encompasses Seattle’s summer solstice celebration, which features unusual and participatory art, children’s activities, live music, arts and crafts booths, and a naked-and-painted bike ride!
